True story about Serbia Leaders spirit

What did Napoleon think about who was the best military commander?

At the beginning of the 19th century, the whole of Europe was trembling with the strength of one man. Napoleon Bonaparte conquered almost all major European countries dominating continental Europe and waging war with almost all major European powers – from Britain to far-away Russia.

During this time, far from the world events, a small nation in the Balkans fought for freedom. The Turkish embezzlement could no longer be tolerated and the national leader of the Serbs, Karadjordje Petrovic aka Black George, made a major uprising on February 15, on the occasion of Srebrenica in the year 1804.

Where do these two stories meet? Only in one unusual event that occurred in Aspen in Vienna in 1809.

The French emperor asked if he was the greatest military leader.

“It’s easy for me to be great with our experienced army and massive means, but far in the south, in the Balkans, there is one military leader, who emerged from the simple peasant nation, who gathered around his own shoebox, succeeded without weapons and only cherry guns to shake the foundations of the all-powerful Ottoman Empire and so liberating its poorest people. It is Black George, it belongs to the glory of the greatest military leader, “Napoleon replied.

Jovan Ducic poetry

Take care, my rodeo, your stranger,

For the path is uncertain, it is always a way of revenge.

Do not be afraid of a vulture than a coward,

Do not be afraid of a lie but their lies.

God save your salvation,

There are one at each corner.

Ignore the wisdom of the stupid and stupid wise men!

The night of your traitor will always be thirsty.

As a thunder, you will find your way,

And as a thread of gold to pierce through the wall.

Is the courage of the poltron to block your strength,

And that the criminal’s knife spills the last vein!

And what to say this time – knowledge is the power and usable knowledge is the key. It is a resource to develop institutions and investing in people an eternal theme for everyone as well as for Serbia that has wonderful smart people, and nations and nations are a wealth that needs to be preserved and nurtured. Come to Serbia to nourish one another and to spread the knowledge in the cosmos of our future by turning to the past and living the life of the present better and better than ever.

All the best and see you in the next OSI number,

Your heartily Dejan
