1. The Temple of St. Sava not only is the largest Serbian Orthodox Church, but it is also already the largest Orthodox temple in the Balkans and one of the largest in the world.
2. The nature of Serbia hides many secrets and unresolved mysteries. One of them is the Rtanj Mountain – 500,000 years old pyramid. Due to its pyramidal shape, this mystical mountain is believed to be the ancient pyramid in which the mothership is left by aliens.
3. When somebody means timers, everyone first thinks about the Swiss. Well, everyone is wrong! They should think about the Serbs. Serbian watchmaking is older than the world famous Swiss. Serbian watchmakers have passed the Swiss for 200 years!
4. “Vampire” is the most famous Serbian word that is accepted and used in the world. Another interesting thing: the first vampire was not Count Dracula but Petar Blagojevic, whose vampire was widely written by the Austrian press in 1725.
5. All that raspberries you eat are from Serbia! Serbia is one of the leading exporters of raspberries in the world. Moreover, according to data from 2017, almost 85% of raspberries on the world market come from this country.
6. The largest peak of Europe’s breakthroughs is the Djerdap Gorge, located in eastern Serbia. And in western Serbia, there is the second most beautiful canyon in Europe – the Drina canyon.
7. In addition to Nikola Tesla, who is certainly one of the most important inventors of all time, Mihailo I. Pupin (physicist and chemist), Milutin Milanković (mathematician, astronomer, climatologist, geophysicist, construction engineer), Josif Pančić (botanist, doctor, lecturer) , Mileva Marić (mathematician) and Vuk Stefanović Karadžić (philologist and linguist) are just some of the famous scientists who are from Serbia.
8. Serbia has a lot of incredible natural attractions like Prerada Vrata, the highest stone gates of Europe. There are 3 – Dry Prerast, Big Prerast and Small Prerast, which is 34 meters high, 30 meters long and 15 meters wide, actually the largest.
9. Between the 3rd and 4th centuries, 18 Roman emperors were born in the territory of today’s Serbia. This is one fifth of all Roman rulers.
10. In Serbia, there is a river called the Year. But, in fact, her real name is not the Year but Hot, and she got this nickname because of her unique length. Believe it or not, this river is exactly 365 meters long.

What did Napoleon think about who was the best military commander?
At the beginning of the 19th century, the whole of Europe was trembling with the strength of one man. Napoleon Bonaparte conquered almost all major European countries dominating continental Europe and waging war with almost all major European powers – from Britain to far-away Russia.
During this time, far from the world events, a small nation in the Balkans fought for freedom. The Turkish embezzlement could no longer be tolerated and the national leader of the Serbs, Karadjordje Petrovic aka Black George, made a major uprising on February 15, on the occasion of Srebrenica in the year 1804.
